Company Training Program

About the LSODance Company Training Program…

LSODance has pre-professional training of advanced dance students and is not recommended for beginner or recreational dancers. Membership is by audition only and placement is based on age and skill. The Company Training Program is designed for serious dancers ages 7 - 17. LSODance  Company members are given the opportunity to participate in competitions, performances, and dance conferences/workshops in and out-of-state.

They have competed and performed at the state, regional and national levels with great success. You may have seen them on Live in the D,  America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, at the Detroit Institute of Arts or a Pistons' half-time - just to name a few! Read below for curriculum information for each Company Training Program (listed ages are guidelines but exceptions may be made based on skill.)

Company Program ages 7-12:

Company members ages 7 - 12 take Modern, Ballet Technique, Cecchetti, Conditioning, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and Acro classes each week. The students train for about 6 -9 hours a week spread over  a 2 or 3 day per week schedule from September - June.

Company Program ages 13 - 18:

Company students ages 13 - 18 have a flexible curriculum which allows them to select as little as 3 classes a week to as many as 9+ classes a week depending on their personal interests and skills with consideration for the amount of days and hours they can commit to being at the studio each week. These students take three or more of the following core classes: Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Conditioning and Hip Hop but also have the option to add on  Cecchetti, (Pointe when ready), Contemporary, Lyrical and Acro. Studio time ranges from 1 to 3 days a week for 3 hours to 10+ hours a week from September to June.

**AUDITIONS**

Company Auditions are held every

year in August.

Who should attend Company auditions?

The LSODance Company Training Program is for students that have a strong interest in Company without persuasion from parents. Boys and Girls ages 7 -17 who want to do advanced training are welcome to audition. All company members take multiple classes, 1 to 3 days each week and also participate in competitions, performances, and dance conferences/workshops in and out-of-state. If you are not interested in advanced training, competitions, touring, etc. or you already have a full extra-curricular schedule, please consider our general studio classes.

What happens during auditions?

You will take a series of master classes that include a warm-up, across the floor movement and short combinations which students will audition in small groups. All students will also present a self-choreographed 60 second solo in the style of his/her choice for LSOD staff.
